Rio Rancho, Hobbs among best for startups
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Rio Rancho and Hobbs are among the 20 best small cities in the U.S. to start a business, according to the financial website WalletHub.
Rio Rancho ranked eighth in the WalletHub report and Hobbs ranked 12th.
WalletHub used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, FDIC and other sources to rank 1,261 cities in three key categories: business environment, access to resources and business costs.
Rio Rancho ranked 15th for business environment; 590th for access to resources and 498th for business costs. Hobbs ranked 70th for business environment, 318th for access to resources and 360th for business costs
Within the business environment category, Hobbs was ranked second for most industry variety.
