Rio Rancho senior living community project moves forward
Rio Rancho is one step closer to 77 new senior living units.
MorningStar Senior Living and Confluent Senior Living said it has closed on the landfor its 70,863-square-foot development in Rio Rancho, the partners announced Tuesday. Construction will commence once permits are finalized, said the company.
The project sits on 5.5 acres on the northwest corner of Westside Boulevard and Golf Course Road. It’s expected to be completed by December.
“We’re thrilled to welcome a MorningStar Senior Living community to Rio Rancho,” wrote Mayor of Rio Rancho Greggory Hull in a statement. “We believe that Confluent and MorningStar will add to the various senior living communities that help address our residents’ housing needs.”
The facility will have studios, one- and two-bedrooms. A bistro, a full bar, an art studio, spa, fitness center and a library are also on the docket for the community.
Rosemann & Associates is the architect for the new development, Albuquerque-based Bradbury Stamm Construction is the general contractor and Thoma-Holec Design is the interior designer.
This isn’t the first development in New Mexico for the pair. Denver-based senior living developer, owner and operator Confluent Senior Living and Denver-based MorningStar were also behind MorningStar of Albuquerque, which was sold in July. And the partners broke ground on a Santa Fe facility in November.
Business First previously reported the total national value of the senior living industry, which ranges from senior communities to assisted living and nursing homes, hits just over $423 billion. MorningStar Senior Living and Confluent Senior Living did not disclose the project cost.
