Ask and you shall receive! Nusenda Credit Union’s customers specifically asked for a Rio Rancho location and Nusenda has responded with a new building on Unser Blvd., scheduled to open in 2016. Springer 5 Investments welcomes our new neighbor to the Unser Gateway.

Residents have been eager for a credit union branch here — so they’re getting one

Nusenda Credit Union knows how to party — at least when it comes to technology and new branding.

As the credit union pours the foundation for its new branch at 2001 Unser Blvd. SE in Rio Rancho, the organization says the location will boast a lot of new features not necessarily present at its other branches.

“Our members have been asking for a new location for a while. We have the current location on Enchanted Hills and another location in Cottonwood, which our members love to tell us is not Rio Rancho but rather west Albuquerque, so we are certainly paying some long overdue respect to our members there,” said Anneliese Elrod, senior vice president of strategic marketing and development. “The costs of building it are pretty typical, but it’s pretty high tech. It’s the first branch that will reflect the new brand of Nusenda, so it’ll look different than a lot of our branches.”

Elrod said that part of the new design is the result of analyzing how members were interacting with services and credit union staff. The full-service branch will feature guided and self-service areas, as well as an interactive section with laptops, computers and smartphones where members can interact with the credit union’s online and mobile services.
The new branch will create 10 to 12 new jobs and joins Nusenda’s location at 7840 Enchanted Hills Blvd. in serving the community that continues to crop up around the Unser Gateway corridor.

Slagle Herr Architects is designing the 4,000-square-foot building and Hart Construction has been contracted to build it. The location is due to open in early 2016.
